What is STEM?

At Saint Joseph, students in grades K-8 participate in STEM lab once a week. Each group (a smaller subsection of the grade) encounters a variety of developmentally-appropriate projects and activities designed to enhance their skills and knowledge in STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). As students get older, their projects increasingly encourage scholars to looks for opportunities to help the broader school, parish, and local communities.

Students have access to a range of technology and skills, including Chromebook, iPads, Osmo Devices, Video and Photography Equipment, Robotic Devices, and more! Scholars learn the basics of coding, collaboration, and design thinking as they seek to engage the curriculum in creative ways.

STEM Lab is a chance for our students to fulfill the tradition of Catholic education. Scholars can explore and use their God-given talents to make learning fun and meaningful!
